Squash Turkish Turban Seeds

A distinctive shape and colour, Turkish Turban squash is an ornamental addition to the veg patch and a delicious winter squash with fruits reaching 30cm in size. This variety is ideal for baking, steaming and turning into soup.

Sow Indoors
Squash seeds should be sown 1.5 cm deep into a pot of good quality compost. Keep pots well-watered but not waterlogged. Germination 12 - 24 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, they can be transplanted into larger pots.
Once the risk of frost has passed and the ground has warmed plants can be placed outside. Harden them off first by placing them outdoors during the day and bringing them back indoors during the night. Repeat this for 7-10 days.
Plants should be placed 30cm apart and growing tips should be pinch out when 4-5 fruits have set. Harvest before the first frosts, Squash will store for many weeks in a cool, dry frost-free location.
