Cactus Seeds Mix

This spiky cactus mixture with produce years of interest in the home. The mixture is made up of a blend of varieties, a mixture of different shapes, colours and sizes. Perfect for a mixed display or the start of a collection.

Sow Indoors: January - December

Sow seeds into a tray of good quality compost. Lightly cover the seeds over and water. Place the tray into a propagator or clear plastic bag in position on a warm, sunny windowsill. Keep the compost moist but do not overwater. Germination can vary between the varieties but you should see growth within 21 - 36 days.
When seedlings emerge, remove the bag or propagator lid but keep the tray positioned in a light area. Try to avoid places where there are no drafts or heat sources such as radiators which will dry out the soil. Cactus grows slowly.
When the cactus seedlings are large enough to handle, they can be transplanted into larger pots. You may need to us a spoon or tweezers to help handle to cactus, the spines can be sharp. The cactus can now be allowed to dry out slightly. They shouldnÕt need watering more than once a week. Cactus look great in single pots or grown as part of a mixed display.
