How to Sow Nasturtium Indoors
Sow into trays of good quality compost. Seeds should be sown 100deep and spaced 3cm apart. Once seedlings start to emerge pot on to larger containers. Before moving plants outdoors harden off by placing them outdoors during the day and bringing them back indoors at night. Repeat this for 7 days before locating them to a sheltered sunny position.
Direct Sow
Nasturtium prefer a well-drained soil and a sunny position. Sow seeds into fine, warm soil direct outdoors where they are to flower at a depth of 10mm. Always sow seeds after all risk of frost has passed and the ground is warm and moist. Germination 10-14 days.
Thin seedlings as they start to emerge to 25cm apart and remove competing weeds during growth. Sow seeds in September for early flowers the following year.
Growing height: 30cm but will trail 60cm
