Ox-Eye Daisy
Hardy Perennial
Marguerite or Ox-Eye Daisy are a familiar native wildflower often found in meadows and fields and are attractive to pollinators. Dainty flowers with white petels and bright yellow centres stand out in contrast to the green foliage.

Sow Indoors: February - June
Transplant: May
Sow Outdoors: April - May
Flowers: May - July

Sow seeds into a tray of good quality compost and lightly cover. Water lightly and place on a warm windowsill or in a greenhouse. When the risk of frost has passed, harden plants off by placing outdoors during the day and bringing them back indoors at night. Repeat for 7 days. Transplant seedlings 5 cm apart where they are to grow on.
Seeds can be sown direct outdoors where they are to grow once the soil has warmed. Protect from frost.
Growing height: 40cm

Foxgloves
Hardy Biennial
Nothing says country garden like the foxglove. This upright stem of bell like flowers in a rainbow of colours makes an excellent cut flower and will self-seed and come back year after year.

Sow Indoors: March - May
Transplant: April - May
Sow Outdoors: October
Flowers: May - August

Sow Indoors
Sow seeds evenly into a tray of good quality compost and lightly cover. Position the tray in a warm sunny location and keep the compost damp to the touch but not wet. Germination approx. 21 days.
Once seedlings emerge, turn the tray regularly to prevent plants from growing towards the sun. Once the risk of frost has passed, plants can be moved outdoors. Harden off by placing plants outdoors during the day and bringing them back indoors at night. Repeat this for 14 - 21 days to acclimatise the plants. Plants can then be transplanted outdoors.

Sow Outdoors
Sow seeds outdoors where they are to grow. For early flowers the following year sow seeds in October when they would naturally fall from the plant.
Sow seeds into well raked soil and cover.
Plant height: 150cm
