Speedy Seed Original is a mixture of grass seed varieties. The blend will establish quickly, germinating quickly within one week and creating a beautiful healthy green lawn in record time. Ideal for new lawns or overseeds to restore an established lawn!

You can use lawn fertiliser a few weeks after the seeds have germinated to encourage a strong healthy lawn. For the best results, store in a cool dry place and use within the season of purchase. Protect your lawn from birds and other wildlife while seeds are germinating. Wait until the risk of frost has passed before using Premier Play, be mindful that frost will affect seed germination.

FOR NEW LAWNS

1. Divide the area that you want to sow into easily manageable sections. A soft, warm, moist soil is best for seed germination.
2. Prepare the area by breaking up all clods and remove any weeds, stones, and leaves.
3. Rake the soil to a depth of 8-10cm, the soil texture should resemble fine breadcrumbs.
4. Shake the seed mixture evenly over the area. Seed rate: 1kg per 30m².
5. Rake the seeds lightly to ensure they make contact with the soil and are evenly spread.
6. Water well with a light spray. Keep the soil moist until the new lawn is well rooted but take care not to wash seeds away!
7. When the grass reaches approximately 8cm high, move for the first time.
8. Follow instructions for overseeding to fill any bare patches.

OVERSEEDING OR RESTORING A LAWN 

1. Mow the grass as short as possible.
2. Rake out dead and dry grass cuttings and remove patches of moss.
3. Using a garden fork, spike the lawn about 8cm deep every 30cm. This boosts grass root growth an improves surface drainage.
4. Shake the seed mixture evenly over the area. Seed rate: 1kg per 60m².
5. Rake the seeds lightly to ensure they make contact with the soil and are evenly spread.
6. Water well daily with light spray and keep soil moist.
7. When the grass reaches approximately 8cm high mow for the first time.
